Lina Kostenko Lina Kostenko the most famous Ukrainian poetess, was born on 19 March 1930 in Rzhyshchiv, Kyiv oblast. She one of the earliest and most outstanding of the sixtiers (shistdesiatnyky), the Soviet Ukrainian writers of the post-Stalinist thaw.
