Which literary character do you feel is closest to your own life experience? Why?
Hi there! I’m Liliya. I read a lot of books and met a great variety of characters but if you ask me which literary character do I feel is closest to my own life experience, I will choose Hercule Poirot from book “The A.B.C. Murders” by Agatha Christie. He is very proud of his nationality. For him, order isn’t just a habit, but part of his worldview. He is often annoyed by chaos, disorganization, and dirt, and he tries to bring order not only to himself but also to his life in general. He is very attentive to detail. Poirot believes that logic and reasons are the main tools in solving any case. Despite his outward restraint he has a deep sense of justice. At the same time, Poirot is a rather lonely man. He has few close friends and isn’t very open about his personal life. He is completely dedicated to his work and it makes him a little isolate from ordinary human joys.
Overall, as a person, he combines intelligence, order, morality, and a certain detachment from emotions, which makes him a unique and my favourite character.
I feel that I am the most attached to this character because I also love discipline, when I’m doing something, I’m not bothered by the world around me and I have few close friends. This is the character I see myself in.
Which literary character matches your life best?
Hi! I’m Nastia. The literary character I feel closest to is Harry Potter created by J.K.Rowling. Like him, I sometimes face challenges that seem difficult at first, but I try to stay strong and not give up. He is not perfect, and he makes mistakes, which makes him more realistic. I also value friendship a lot, just like Harry does, and I believe that support from others is very important. Another reason is that he grows as a person throughout the story, and I think personal growth is an important part of life. I try to learn from my experiences and become better, just like he does. That is why I feel a connection to this character.
I’d like to add that the book that has had the most profound influence on me is Harry Potter. It taught me important values such as courage, loyalty and believing in myself. The story shows that even ordinary people can do extraordinary things if they don’t give up. I also learned that choices are more important than abilities, which I think is a very strong message. The characters and their development made me think about my own decisions and behaviour. In addition, the book helped me develop my imagination and love for reading.
