Nuclear Power Is Essential in Order to Provide Enough Energy Globally
In the modern world, energy is essential for economic development, technological progress, and everyday life. As the global population continues to grow, the demand for reliable and affordable energy is increasing rapidly. Many experts argue that nuclear power is essential to meet this global energy demand despite its high construction and maintenance costs.
On the one hand, nuclear power has several important advantages. It is one of the most efficient sources of energy, and a single nuclear power plant can produce enormous amounts of electricity without releasing carbon dioxide during operation. This makes it a valuable tool in the fight against climate change. Nuclear energy also provides a stable and continuous supply of electricity, unlike solar and wind power, which depend on weather conditions.
From an economic perspective, although nuclear power plants are very expensive to build, they have relatively low fuel costs and long operational lifespans of 50–60 years. Once constructed, they can produce electricity at a stable price. In addition, because they require small amounts of fuel and produce large quantities of energy, the cost per unit of electricity can be competitive in the long term.
On the other hand, there are serious disadvantages to nuclear power. The construction of nuclear plants requires billions of dollars and can take more than ten years due to strict safety regulations. Maintenance is also extremely expensive because facilities must be continuously monitored, repaired, and modernised to prevent accidents. Furthermore, when nuclear plants reach the end of their working life, decommissioning them is highly costly and technically complex.
There are also significant safety and environmental concerns. The risk of catastrophic accidents, such as those in Chernobyl and Fukushima, shows the potential danger of nuclear energy. In addition, radioactive waste remains hazardous for thousands of years and must be stored securely, creating long-term problems for future generations. Critics argue that renewable energy sources such as solar, wind, hydroelectric, and geothermal power are becoming cheaper and safer, making nuclear power less necessary.
In conclusion, although nuclear power involves high construction, maintenance, and decommissioning costs and carries serious risks, it remains essential for providing enough energy globally. It produces large amounts of reliable, low-carbon electricity and helps ensure energy security. However, the most effective solution is a balanced energy strategy that combines nuclear power with rapidly developing renewable energy sources.

Hi there! I’m Vlad and I’d like to share with you my thoughts on this issue.
Nowadays, energy is very important for our lives. It is essential in all spheres of life. Nuclear power is often considered necessary to meet the world’s growing energy demand.
On the one hand, nuclear power stations are generally safe, and it is relatively cheap to operate nuclear reactors once they are built. Accidents are rare, and workers do everything possible to prevent them. In addition, radioactive waste can now be buried and stored more safely. Furthermore, modern nuclear reactors cost less to operate and maintain than in the past. Although they take a long time to build, they can provide low-cost energy continuously for about 60 years. Finally, they are reliable. Nuclear reactors produce large amounts of energy, and as the world’s population grows, we will need more electricity, heat, and energy for transport.
On the other hand, there are strong arguments against nuclear power. Firstly, the consequences of an accident at a nuclear power plant are extremely serious, unlike those of most renewable energy sources. Radioactive waste must be stored securely and guarded, which increases the cost of nuclear energy and creates problems for future generations. Secondly, it is becoming cheaper to build renewable energy sources. For example, nuclear reactors are very expensive to construct and costly to decommission when they are no longer in use. Renewable energy sources are much quicker to build, last much longer, and do not need to be made safe in the same way. Thirdly, although energy demand is rising, we could meet this demand by developing enough renewable energy sources. Not all renewables depend on the weather: hydroelectric, biogas, biomass, and geothermal energy do not rely on it. In addition, advances are being made in technologies that store energy from solar and wind power.
To sum up, nuclear power has both advantages and disadvantages. Personally, I believe that although nuclear power plays an important role in our lives, renewable energy should be developed as a safer and more sustainable alternative.
Hello! My name’s Lilia. Here is my essay.
Nuclear power stations are large energy producers. They play an important role in the modern world, as they generate a significant amount of electricity. There are four nuclear power stations in Ukraine: Zaporizhzhia, Rivne, South Ukrainian, and Khmelnytskyi.
On the one hand, nuclear energy is very useful because it produces a huge amount of electricity from a small amount of fuel. This is a major advantage that covers many of its disadvantages.
On the other hand, nuclear power stations are potentially dangerous facilities. The construction and maintenance of one modern nuclear power unit in 2025 is estimated to cost 5–6 billion dollars.
Despite this, nuclear power stations are considered a reliable source of energy due to their stable 24/7 operation and independence from weather conditions.
In my opinion, nuclear power stations are dangerous, and society needs to find alternative forms of energy so that both humanity and nature will be safe.
I’m Nastia and this my written work.
Today, the world needs more energy than ever before. The population is growing, and people use electricity for transport, heating, and daily life. Nuclear power is one way to produce energy. Some people believe it is good, while others disagree.
On the one hand, nuclear power has several advantages. Firstly, it is quite safe because accidents do not happen often, and modern nuclear power stations have strong safety systems. Radioactive waste can now be buried safely. Secondly, although nuclear power stations are expensive to build, they can produce electricity for about 60 years. This makes nuclear energy cheaper in the long term.
On the other hand, nuclear power also has serious disadvantages. If an accident happens, the consequences can be very dangerous for people and the environment. In addition, radioactive waste must be guarded for many years, which creates problems for future generations. Moreover, renewable energy sources such as wind and solar power are becoming cheaper and quicker to build. Some renewable sources, like hydro and geothermal energy, do not depend on the weather.
In conclusion, nuclear power has both advantages and disadvantages. Personally, I think it can provide a lot of reliable energy, but it also brings risks and long-term problems.
