Harmonious Lifestyle
Hi! I’m Liliya and today I’d like to share with you some ideas about a balanced lifestyle. A balanced lifestyle or a healthy lifestyle includes both physical and mental aspects.
The proverb says: “The best doctors in the world are Doctor Diet, Doctor Quiet, and Doctor Merryman.” In my opinion, it is true because we need good health and a balanced lifestyle. This includes healthy eating habits, enough rest, and a cheerful mood. Let’s discuss everything in order.
First, we need to keep a balanced lifestyle. It is very important in our life. We should exercise, eat healthy food which includes fats, protein, carbohydrates, vitamins, and minerals. I think we should eat more fresh fruits and vegetables and choose food that is low in calories. Moreover, we need to drink enough water and avoid profuse consumption of salt, sugar, and fatty food which can increase the risk of chronic illnesses.
Secondly, we must have enough sleep and rest. We shouldn’t overwork ourselves or spend half the night surfing the Internet. If we do, we will have bags under our eyes, feel tired, and sleepy. That means we won’t study or work well. That’s why it is important to sleep normally.
Thirdly, we should have a cheerful mood. We create our own mood, so we shouldn’t be sad without important reasons. As far as I know, without good emotions, our day will be gray like autumn clouds. If we don’t have a good mood, we won’t eat healthy food. Instead, we will want to eat sweets to feel less depressed. Also, we won’t exercise if we don’t feel motivated. So everything starts with mood.
In conclusion, without a healthy lifestyle we will become couch potatoes who only lie down and eat. We need to understand how important it is to take care of ourselves and love ourselves.
A balanced lifestyle is a way of living that keeps all the main areas of life in harmony — physical health, mental well-being, work, rest, and relationships.
Balanced lifestyle = eating healthy + exercising + sleeping well + managing stress + keeping a positive mood.
Liliya, here is an upper-intermediate version of your essay:
The proverb says: “The best doctors in the world are Doctor Diet, Doctor Quiet, and Doctor Merryman.”
In my opinion, this is true because good health depends on maintaining a balanced lifestyle. This includes healthy eating habits, sufficient rest, regular physical activity, and a positive state of mind. Let’s look at each of these in detail.
Firstly, it is essential to follow a balanced lifestyle. Regular exercise and a healthy diet play a key role. Exercise helps to strengthen our muscles, improve circulation, maintain a healthy weight, and reduce stress. It can include activities like walking, jogging, cycling, swimming, or even simple stretching at home. Our meals should include proteins, carbohydrates, fats, vitamins, and minerals. I believe it is better to eat more fresh fruits and vegetables and choose food that is low in calories. In addition, it is important to drink enough water and avoid excessive amounts of salt, sugar, and fatty products.
Secondly, proper sleep and rest are vital. We should not overwork ourselves or spend half the night browsing the Internet. Otherwise, we will wake up tired, with bags under our eyes, and lack the energy to study or work effectively. That is why it is necessary to sleep well and give our bodies time to recover.
Thirdly, maintaining a cheerful mood is just as important as diet, rest, and exercise. To a great extent, we are responsible for our own emotions. If we constantly feel sad, our days will seem dull and unproductive. Moreover, when we are in a bad mood, we are more likely to eat unhealthy food, such as sweets, to comfort ourselves, and we may also lose motivation to exercise. In this way, mood influences all other aspects of our lifestyle.
In conclusion, without a healthy lifestyle we risk becoming couch potatoes who only lie down and eat. Regular exercise, proper diet, sufficient rest, and a positive attitude are all essential for maintaining good health. We must understand how important it is to care for our health and treat ourselves with respect and love.
