Visit to Lviv, an Experience Full of History, Beauty, and Fun Adventures
Hi there! I’m Liliya and I’d like to share my impressions of our visit to Lviv. Last week, my class went on a trip to the ancient city of Lviv. We had just finished 9th grade, so our parents decided to arrange the celebration of this milestone in a special way. They chose Lviv because it’s a beautiful city, full of unique architecture and amazing places to see.
We left our hometown in the evening. While riding the bus, we sang songs and fooled around a bit. Then we got on the train and immediately started eating. The boys were bored, so they put on a funny show. Some of the other passengers were probably trying to sleep. One woman even complained and touched one of us, which was quite uncomfortable. I can say that none of us really got much sleep that night.
When we arrived, we checked into the hotel. Anyone who wanted, took a shower as it was very hot outside. Then we all had breakfast together and went out to explore the city. One evening, we were walking near the Opera House, and all the girls were taking pictures. During that time, I even met a guy and we had a nice talk! It appeared we had much in common.
The next day, we went on a mafia-themed quest, which was really fun. Later, we went to the city center and played in the fountains. It was hilarious, everyone was happy, even though it got a bit chilly afterward. In the evening, we visited the House of Scientists to film a waltz.
On the third day, we visited several museums: the Arsenal Museum, the Old Pharmacy, the Dominican Cathedral, and the High Castle. As we were walking to dinner, it started raining. Have you ever run in the rain wearing slippers, shorts, and a raincoat? It was so slippery that I even lost my slippers along the way!
On the way back home, I slept the entire 11-hour ride. Everyone was completely exhausted, and the bus was very quiet. The trip left us with wonderful memories and an unforgettable experience. Visit to Lviv gave me a chance to explore stunning architecture and make great memories with my friends. It was the perfect way to celebrate the end of 9th grade.
A Brief Description of the Sights We Visited in Lviv
Arsenal Museum (Lviv Arsenal)
The Lviv Arsenal Museum is a historic weapons museum located in a 16th-century building that was once used for storing arms and defending the city. Today, it houses a large collection of ancient weapons, including swords, guns, and armor from different countries and time periods. It’s a fascinating place for those interested in military history.Old Pharmacy (Museum of Pharmacy)
Located on Drukarska Street, this is the oldest operating pharmacy in Lviv, founded in 1735. It also functions as a museum with over 3,000 pharmacy-related items. You can see old laboratory tools, rare medicines, and even visit a recreated alchemist’s workshop in the basement. It offers a unique look at the history of medicine and pharmacy.Dominican Cathedral (Church of the Holy Eucharist)
This beautiful Baroque-style church was built in the 18th century. It was originally part of the Dominican Monastery and is known for its grand dome, stunning interior, and impressive altar. Today, it serves as a Greek Catholic church and also hosts concerts due to its excellent acoustics.High Castle (Vysokyi Zamok)
High Castle is a historic hilltop park offering the best panoramic views of Lviv. Although only ruins remain of the original 14th-century castle, the site is popular with both locals and tourists. The climb to the top is a bit steep, but the view of the city skyline is worth it, especially at sunset.
