A Sports Person I look up to

Hi there! I’m Liliya and today I’ll tell you about a sports person I look up to. Her name in Simone Biles and she is a gymnast from the USA. I  consider her a perfect role model.

Simone Arianne Biles Owens is an American artistic gymnast. Her 11 Olympic medals and 30 World Championship medals make her the most decorated gymnast in history. She is widely regarded as one of the greatest gymnasts of all time and one of the greatest Olympians of all time.

Simone Biles is one of the most successful gymnasts of today. She was born on March 14, 1997, in Columbus, Ohio, USA, and has become a symbol of strength, skill, and determination. Simone started gymnastics at the age of six, quickly showing her exceptional talent. By her teenage years, she was already winning national competitions.

Throughout her career, Simone has won a total of 25 World Championship medals, including 19 golds, making her the most decorated gymnast in world championship history. She is also a seven-time Olympic medalist, with four gold medals. She is known for her difficult and innovative routines, including moves that were so complex they were named after her, setting new standards in gymnastics.

In 202o, at the Tokyo Olympics, she made the courageous decision to withdraw from several events due to mental health challenges, highlighting the importance of mental well-being in sports. Her choice sparked a global conversation about the pressures athletes face and the need to prioritize mental health.

Beyond gymnastics, Simone is actively involved in charity work. She supports organizations that help children and young people, particularly those in foster care, as she herself was adopted as a child. She also speaks out against abuse and violence, using her voice to inspire and advocate for positive change.

She is someone to look up to, not only for her incredible achievements but also for her resilience and honesty. She is my role model because, even after facing challenges, she continues to work hard, break barriers, and stay on top.
