Hi there! I’m Vlad and the film which I’m going to write about is The Ring. The Ring is a 2002 American film directed by Gore Verbinski from a screenplay by Ehren Kruger, and starring Naomi Watts, Martin Henderson and Brian Cox. The film is a mix of film genres. It’s a horror film, a psychological drama and a supernatural thriller.
The plot centers on Rachel Keller, a journalist who must figure out a way to escape death after watching a cursed videotape. If you watch it, you will get a call and after that you will die in seven days. The girl, whose name is Samara Morgan, usually crawls from the televesion to kill.
Teenage girls Katie and Becca discuss a cursed videotape that kills anyone who watches it in seven days. Katie dies after watching it. At Katie’s funeral, her mother asks her sister Rachel, a journalist, to investigate. Rachel discovers that Katie’s friends died similarly. She watches the tape, receives a creepy call, and involves her ex-boyfriend Noah. They find out about a girl named Samara with psychic powers.
Rachel goes to Samara’s hometown and learns Samara’s tragic past. Samara was Anna and Richard’s adopted daughter, who had dark powers. Rachel and Noah find a hidden loft in Samara’s old home and a clue leading back to the Shelter Mountain Inn. There, they discover a well where Samara was left to die.
After escaping the well, they give Samara a proper burial. Back home, Rachel realizes the tape seen by her son Aidan and Noah was a copy she made. Samara’s ghost kills Noah, but Rachel saves Aidan by having him make another copy to show someone else, breaking the curse.
This is a horror film about a girl who was drowned in the well by her parents. There is a video on a special cassete and
There are not many special effects in The Ring but it is gripping and the plot is confusing. The cast is also briliant. Music in the film is sometimes scary. All in all, the film is amazing and I recommend you to watch it. The film was released twenty years ago but it’s still popular today.
