Writing: A Letter of Advice
Imagine that a friend of yours sent you a letter asking for advice as he/she and his/her parents disagree about what university he/she should study at. Recommend your friend what to do, write a letter of advice.
Hi there! I’m Diana and this is my letter of advice.
Dear Nastya,
I just received your letter, and I believe I can be of help. First and foremost, thank you for reaching out to me. I’m sorry to hear about the challenges you’re facing, but I’m hopeful that I can offer you some advice that will lead to improvements.
Choosing a career path is a significant decision in everyone’s life, and it’s never too early to start contemplating your future profession, considering the numerous options available. Attending a reputable university is generally necessary to secure a well-paying job. However, selecting the right university can be a daunting task due to the abundance of choices. I empathize with your situation regarding the arguments with your parents about your university selection. Rest assured, you are not alone in facing such a predicament. Initially, my own parents disapproved of my chosen university as well.
Here are some suggestions on how to tackle this issue. Your parents have more life experience than you do, so it is important to value their wisdom and knowledge. Take into consideration their recommendations; perhaps they are trying to provide you with valuable advice. However, if you are confident in your decision, try to avoid arguing with your parents.
Maintain a friendly and polite tone when expressing your thoughts. I am certain that they will respond in the same manner. Help them understand and support your choice by effectively communicating your perspective.
I wish you the best of luck, and I hope my advice proves helpful. Please keep me updated on the outcome.
Best wishes,
Diana
Hi there! I’m Veronica https://in2english.net/veronika/ and here is my letter of advice.
Dear Kayla,
I’ve just got your letter and think I can help you.
I understand how important this issue is for you and your parents as they want the best life for you. If I were you, I would talk to them. You should tell each other your options and justify them. Discuss all the pros and cons of studying at one or another college, of course, if you have already chosen a profession.
If you have a debate about who you want to be, usually the best idea is to tell your parents that you want to make your own choices and make your own mistakes. If this happened to me, I would do exactly that.
Remember, you are the creator of your future, don’t let anyone destroy it.
I hope my advice helps you. Fingers crossed for you! Keep me posted!
Best wishes,
Veronica
