Writing Time

Write an email to your friend about your last journey.

Hello there! I’m Sofia and here is my email to a friend about my last journey.

Hi Ira,

How are you? I’m sorry it took me so long to write. My trip to the Carpathians was great! I travelled there with my family by car. The journey was enjoyable but a bit troublesome.

I had a lot of fun and I met some interesting people. The thing I enjoyed the most in the Carpathians was my visit to the zoo. It was a very small zoo in the village of Morshyn. This beautiful village is located in the west of Ukraine.

There were peacocks, tiny raccoons, rabbits, a llama, a lynx, parrots, and chickens in the zoo. We could feed all the animals. The zoo had both pets and wild animals. The name of the zoo was Zootropolis. Among all the animals, I liked raccoons the most because they enjoyed eating bread and playing with our hands. The ticket to the zoo cost 30 hryvnias. I visited this zoo twice, and I really liked it. I think that zoos help us learn more about animals. I also went shopping in Lviv, which was a lot of fun.

That’s all for now. Write back with your news.

Love always,
Sofia

The Benefits of a Visit to the Zoo

Learning about animals
Zoos allow kids to see and study various animals up close, helping them learn about different species, their habitats, and behaviors.

Developing empathy
Interacting with animals at the zoo helps kids understand and appreciate the needs and feelings of other living beings.

Environmental awareness
Zoos often teach children about the importance of protecting animals and their habitats, creating awareness about conservation and environmental issues.

Hands-on experience
Visiting a zoo provides a chance for children to actively engage their senses, observe animals, listen to their sounds, and sometimes even touch them in designated areas.

Learning through experience
Zoos offer a fun and interactive learning environment, allowing kids to see animals in action, participate in feeding demonstrations, and join guided tours or interactive exhibits.

Family time and recreation
Going to the zoo offers an opportunity for families to spend quality time together, enjoy a shared experience, and have fun outside of their regular routines.

Conservation awareness
Some zoos actively work on protecting endangered species and habitats. By visiting a zoo, kids can learn about these conservation efforts and be inspired to help protect animals and the environment.

Overall, a trip to the zoo can be an exciting and educational adventure for kids, helping them learn about animals, develop empathy, and understand the importance of conservation.
