Interstellar

Write about your favourite film.

Hello everyone, today I want to write about the best film in my opinion. Interstellar looks like it was made in the 80s, because it is an uncharacteristically slow movie with slow shots and soundtrack. This film was directed by Christopher Nolan who is a fan of “A Space Odyssey”, as a result it has a lot of similarities which Nolan specially highlighted.

Interstellar is a 2014 epic science fiction film co-written, directed, and produced by Christopher Nolan. It stars Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, Bill Irwin, Ellen Burstyn, Matt Damon, and Michael Caine. Set in future where humanity is struggling to survive, the film follows a group of astronauts who travel through a wormhole near Saturn in search of a new home for mankind.

You may think that this movie is a common fantasy film that wants to entertain you by using special effects. But firstly, “Interstellar” isn’t a fantasy, it’s a sci-fi film which has quite a large scientific base. Kip Thorne is an astrophysicist who was an assistant of film creation. He set a condition that this film must be 100% science based. A special engine was written for drawing a black hole, which was written from the scientific works of Kip Thorne. So if you think that some moments are fantastic, Kip Thorne in his book “Interstellar Science” will answer you how it works. This hours-long film pumps us with 3 hours of science, showing the common and familiar feelings for us like love between parents and their children.

For “Higher entities” this life is understandable, besides people who have quite interesting feelings and skills. That’s why they decided to help people to move from their world. This task was given to the main character’s family. Father and daughter who haven’t been speaking for 30 years but still love each other, as a result they become a peculiar bridge between the whole story of the film.

As for music. Nolan chose popular composer Hanz Zimmer to write the soundtrack, and his approach to this task was quite interesting. Hanz was asked to write the music about father and his son’s relationship, because Nolan knew that Zimer had a son and he would be able to write a composition about what it’s like being a father. He composed music about himself.

In conclusion, I think that it is the best film of all time, which touches important life issues.
