Have practice in writing a semi-formal letter.

I’m Dasha and I did the task in writing a semi-formal letter using this situation:

You have just returned home after living with a host family in an English-speaking country for three months. You now understand that you left a small bag of personal belongingd in the room where you stayed. Write an e-mail to the host family. In your e-mail:

• describe the things you left behind
• ask the host family to send these things to you
• offer to cover the shipping costs

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Brown,

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at your home and I would like to thank you for providing me with everything necessary. The three months, which I spent at your family, I felt like home. I will never forget your kindness and hospitality!

Actually, I am contacting you to ask you to do me a favor. When I unpacked my suitcase, I found out that I had forgotten a bag with my personal belongings at your place. I am sorry to bother you, but I will be extremely pleased if you can send me my bag by post. I am sure, that it is on the coffee table in the living room. There are no any priceless things in the bag, but it is full of my necesseties like cosmetics kit, note book, etc. and what is more, I go to university with it so I need it before I resume my studying. So, it would be good if you send it as soon as possible. Don’t worry about the delivery payment, please, I will take it upon myself.

I will be very grateful if you can give me a helping hand. Please let me know if you are able to do it and it won’t be much of trouble for you.
