  4. They give thanks for many good things in their lives.
  5. This is a family holiday.
  6. Families get together and have a big dinner.
  7. Turkey with stuffing is the main dish.
  8. They also have sweet potatoes, squash, corn, cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie.
  9. Apple cider is the drink of the day.
  10. Football is the most popular game on this day.
  11. Stores, classrooms, and homes are decorated with turkeys, pilgrims, Indians, wreaths of dried flowers and vegetables.
  12. Horns of plenty are also very popular.
  13. Charitable organizations serve dinners and send baskets of food to needy people.
  14. People say “Happy Thanksgiving Day!”
