Let’s learn Christmas and New Year Rhymes and Poems

Christmas

A beautiful time of the year –

With carols and tinsel

And lots of good cheer

With sharing and caring

And hearts drawing near.

Christmas …

A beautiful time of the year!

December

It’s hard to think of anything

But Christmas in December.

There’s so much to look forward to

And so much to remember.

A Pine Tree

Outside there’s a pine tree standing straight and tall.

It needs no decorations – nature’s done it all.

Pinecones on its branches with icicles glistening bright,

Snow upon its needles and birds at rest from flight.

I see it from my window, and take the time to say,

Thank you for your beauty, tree, on this Christmas day.

Hear the Jingle Bells

Hear the jingle, jingle, jingle,

Hear the jingle bells,

Ringing lightly, ringing brightly,

Hear the jingle bells.

Jingle, jingle.

Ring those bells!

Ringing Bells

I love to hear the ringing bells,

The ringing bells,

The clanging, wrangling, banging bells,

The big, low, slow bells!

Ring Those Bells

Ring those bells and turn around,

Ring those bells and turn around,

Ring those bells and turn around,

For Christmas time has come.

Ring those bells and stamp your feet,

Ring those bells and stamp your feet,

Ring those bells and stamp your feet,

For Christmas time has come.

Ring those bells and jump up high,

Ring those bells and jump up high,

Ring those bells and jump up high,

For Christmas time has come.

Christmas Message

by H. W. Longfellow

Christmas Time

Now it’s Christmas time,

Oh, it’s Christmas time!

And Christmas time will last till New Year

The time for happiness and good cheer.

Dreams

Take your dreams this Christmas

And decorate the tree.

Look up  high

And once again

The glowing star you’ll see.

Take your dreams and carry them

Into the coming year.

Dreams are made of hope and love

Whenever faith is near.

Christmas Tree

                                  by  Laurence Smith

Star over all

Eye of the night

Stand on my tree magical sight.

Green under frost,

Green under snow,

Green under tinsel,

Glitter and glow.

Appled with baubles

Silver and gold

Spangled with fire

Warm over cold.

Christmas Tree

“I’m a little Christmas tree

Glittering, glittering merrily

A star at my head and gifts at my feet

On all my branches candy canes sweet”.

Christmas tree, we love you so,

Live with us, play with us, do not go.

We’ll plant you outdoors with grass at your feet.

On all your branches singing birds sweet.

Round our Christmas tree we dance and sing,

Hand in hand we make a ring

Singing and dancing as round we go

Christmas tree, we love you so!

Santa Claus Is Coming

Santa Claus is coming,

Christmas is near,

Hang all the stockings

We can’t wait till he’s here.

Must Be Santa

Who’s got a beard that’s long and white?

Santa’s got a beard that’s long and white.

Who comes around on a special night?

Santa comes around on a special night.

Special night, beard that’s white,

Chorus: Must be Santa, must be Santa,

must be Santa, Santa Claus.

Who’s got boots and a suit of red?

Santa’s got boots and a suit of red.

Who wears a long cap on his head?

Santa wears a long cap on his head.

Cap on head, suit of red,

Special night, beard that’s white,

Chorus: Must be Santa, must be Santa,

must be Santa, Santa Claus.

Who’s got a great big cherry nose?

Santa’s got a great big cherry nose.

Who laughs this way, “Ho, ho ho?”

Santa laughs this way, “Ho, ho, ho”.

Ho, ho, ho, cherry nose, cap on head, suit that’s red,

special night, beard that’s white

Chorus: Must be Santa, must be Santa,

must be Santa, Santa Claus.

Christmas Is Coming

Christmas is coming, the goose is getting fat

Please to put a penny in the old man’s hat,

Please to put a penny in the old man’s hat.

If you have no penny a ha’penny will do,

If you have no ha’penny then God bless you.

If you have no ha’penny then God bless you.

Gift of Love

In the glow of Christmas candles

And the stars that shine above,

I bring you season’s greetings

With the ribboned gift of love.

In the joyous sound of voices

Singing carols in the snow,

I take your hand and tell you

Of my love that seems to grow.

With Christmas years behind us

And Christmas years ahead,

I tie my love with ribbons

In the shed of Christmas red.

Why Do I Love Christmas?

I love Christmas for many things

Trees, candles, angel wings.

Stars in the heavens,

Snow covered hills,

Little toy trains,

Dolls in their frills.

I love Christmas but most of all

I look forward to a neighbour’s call.

A friendly chat, a cup of tea

Love in the home means Christmas to me.

Christmas Day

If love is in the stocking,

And joy is on the tree,

If faith is in the glowing star,

Then friendship is the key

To blessings in the coming year

With faith and joy and love quite near.

Gather love on Christmas Day

And let your heart to give it away.
