Visiting Ireland on an Exchange Programme

Hello Patrick!

I am so excited that we are going to take part in a student exchange programme. I will have a chance to visit Ireland which I’ve read and learnt about so much and you will get acquainted with my motherland. Isn’t it cool to learn customs and traditions of the other nation and improve your speaking skills?

It is great that the warmest seasons of the year spring and summer were taken for exchange programme because it is the most favourable time for travelling. The weather in Ukraine at this time is the best with lots of sunny and warm days but you have to be prepared for heat and thunderstorms in summer.

Nature in Ukraine is extremely beautiful with mountains, lakes, rivers and hills. There are lots of breathtaking views.

There are many beautiful cities in Ukraine. I am sure you will admire the churches of Kyiv, the fountains of Vinnitsa, the castles and cathedrals of Lviv and the Black Sea in Odessa. You can climb the highest peak of Ukrainian Carpathians mount of Hoverla, you may like a cycling trip in the countryside as well as swimming, boating, wind surfing on the Dnipro river.

In every town or city you can find restaurants and cafes of Ukrainian cuisine. I hope you will enjoy Ukrainian borshch, lard, varenyky and pancakes.

It would be nice if you could tell me about the place where I will live. I am looking forward to visiting old Irish castles and other historic places. Shall I bring any warm clothes with me? Can I use my credit card for payment?

Say hello to your parents.

Write as soon as possible.

Yours,

Max
