Have you read any books in English?

Book Review

Last week I read the book “A Parable about the King”. It is the first English book which I’ve read from cover to cover.

The author of the book is Beth Moore. This story is a parable. It is about the princess who wants to be like a normal kid but her father is the King.

The story takes place in a medieval kingdom. The main characters are the princess and her father the King. A slightly spoiled princess decides to disobey her father the King and runs away from home. She thinks that it might be better to be like the peasant children in the neighborhood and play stickball in the streets all day. At the end of the book she learns an important lesson. She is so ashamed of what she has done and she understands that it is necessary to be responsible for her behaviour.

The book is well written and beautifully illustrated. I liked the happy ending of the story. It wasn’t a problem for me to read this book in English. I enjoyed it very much.  This story teaches us to be accountable and responsible for our behavior. I recommend this book to everyone who likes reading in English.

When a king’s rebellious daughter disobeys her father’s wishes, his forgiveness and patience vividly remind us of God’s unconditional love. No matter where you are in life or who you are, if you are one of God’s children you are a child of the King.

Illustrations by Beverly Warren are awesome and I’m proud to know her personally.
