Coral reefs are amazing places.
You can find them in the Pacific and the Indian oceans, in the Caribbean and the Red seas and the Persian Gulf. They cover 0.2% of world’s oceans.
They are located in warm shallow tropical oceans and they are tiny living animals.
Coral reefs are very important because they give habitat for over 1 million animal species.
Nearly one third of coral reefs have already disappeared. The causes of their disappearance are water pollution and climate changes. What is more, people who go scuba diving and fishing, drop litter into the sea or ocean.
We must protect coral reefs and we mustn’t touch them.
